I have been having screenings for several years and find it is well worth it. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. My only concern is that people who are walk ins get taken ahead of people who took the time to preregister and perpay and were there on time and had to wait. Some people had to reschedule because of the back up.

Gil - My educated guess is that many doctors don't carry the vaccine because of volume of patients in need in their practice, costs of storing(shelf life/preservation issues) and spotty insurance coverage .

I read on your website about shingles vaccine which I am very interested in.
But there is "something funny" going on with this one. Personal doctors won't touch it with a 10 ft pole. I think it has to do with insurance. Lots of places give the vacine now, but with an out of pocket cost $200 - $300. As a practical matter it is difficult to actually get this vaccine.

Ethel - You would really have to speak to your doctor about your medical conditions and your medications. You could also ask about other therapies such as massage or water walking, which could potentially help. Good luck!

Jima - Insurance coverage varies from policy to policy. We will provide you with a detailed receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company to determine coverage. You should also make a copy of your results to send along with the receipt.
Medicare and health insurance generally do not allow for coverage of our screenings. Medicare currently covers a one-time abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening at their “Welcome to Medicare” physical, for men only, at age 65, if they have a history of smoking. Please check with your doctor to see if you are eligible for this test.
