I have most of these symptoms.
yust been informed that i have enlarged aorta
I was recently released for m the hospital for a bout with some chest pain. The pain was mostly ont he right side of my chest, so I was told it is not likely a heart issue. I was alos diagnosed with an enlarged Aorta 4.5CM during a CT scan. The ech cardiogram and MRI they did also confirmed this finding also showing some fluid. They did not detect and aneurysm or disectiona d said I should be ok. They want to test again in 6 months but said I do not need to worry. I have read several articles since then that contradict this. Should I worry, there is no explaination of why the fluid is there and 4.3Cm is quite a bit above the norm.
David - It appears you might have a medium-sized thoracic aneurysm which "could" be the source of your recent symptoms. A very small amount of fluid is normal in the pericardium .I recommend a second opinion with a reputable cardio-thoracic surgeon in the near future.
