Am confused here, asks if I exercise less than 3 times a week.. Should that not be "more" than 3 times a week? What is considered enough exercise; shoveling snow, walking, housework?

Bill - Any activity counts if it feels like exercise and raises your heart rate. Vigorous housework, snow shoveling, and walking can all be good activities if these activities increase your heart rate . Just make sure you do enough of it regularly, at least 60-90 minutes a week, and don’t forget to stretch.

I have mild carotid artery screening findings. I am 65 and my mother died at 86 of a stroke. What are my chances of a stroke and how do I know if I have one? I would like to talk to someone to advise me what I should be doing.

Susan - Your concerns are valid. Consultations with your family doctors or with a specialist in vascular surgery would be your best way to address your concerns. Either one of the doctors would do a complete history and physical and check your blood pressure and your lipids before giving you the necessary instructions and recommendations.
