Iscemic stroke Stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted. Carotid artery disease Carotid artery disease is the clogging of the arteries in the neck. Atrial fibrillation Atrial fibrillation is the most common type of heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat). Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) AAA is a condition in which the lining of the blood vessel called the aorta is enlarged within the abdomen. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) PAD is the narrowing or clogging of the arteries in the legs. Risk for heart disease Heart disease refers to a collection of diseases and conditions affecting the heart. Elevated C-reactive protein (CRP) CRP is a substance in the blood that is considered a risk factor when it is at a high level. High cholesterol Cholesterol is a kind of fat in the blood that is considered a risk factor when it is elevated. Type 2 diabetes Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin. Risk for osteoporosis Osteoporosis is a disease in which bone becomes fragile. Elevated liver enzymes ALT and AST are enzymes located in liver cells that leak out into circulating blood when liver cells are injured. Congestive heart failure (CHF) Heart failure is a condition in which the heart cannot pump enough blood to the body's other organs. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) COPD is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. Lung cancer Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death for men and women.
