A friend of mine had a scan done by your company and was given a clean bill of health. A month later he died of a massive heart attack. Do you give refunds in cases like that?

I just wanted to let you know that I went to a Life Line Screening a few months ago. The results were I had a significantly blocked right artery and a nodule on my left thyroid. I immediately followed up with my Primary care doctor and had test done on both issues. Everything turned out fine and I am on medications to help with these issues. If I had not attended this screening who knows what could have happened. I want to thank all of you at Life Line Screeening. It really works and it is great to have the opportunity to have these test done.

Bob MIchaels, We are sorry to hear of the passing of your friend.
Life Line Screening offers tests that look for the major causes of stroke and vascular disease, but not all. It is possible to have normal screenings and still suffer a serious cardiovascular event. For example, we do not screen the coronary arteries which are the arteries surrounding the heart. This is why we include information on our results report stating that if you are having any type of discomfort or symptoms you should seek immediate medical attention, regardless of the findings from your screenings.
We include this information on our results report because we want to ensure that everyone who uses our service understands that no screening screens for every possible cardiovascular situation. Again, please accept our condolences for the loss of your friend.

Does insurance normally cover the four vascular screenings? If so, do we pay at the time of service and bill the insurance ourselves or do you bill insurance?

I recently participated in Life Line screening and have only a few comments. Aside from how vital the tests are and how early screening can and often does save a life, the screening itself needs to be addressed. The setting that i was in was very cold and drafty and the entire check in process was confusing and long. I also felt there was a lack of privacy as names were called out loud and some tests performed without any regard to HIPPA privacy. Just some areas to keep in mind for the company and participants alike.

I noticed that if you check on a location it will say "5+ times available" but when you open it up you are only given two choices, why is that? Also, i think you need to be available later in the day at some of the sessions, 4:30 would be ideal for some people who cannot take the time off from work during the day.

Curtis - Insurance coverage varies from policy to policy. We will provide you with a detailed receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company to determine coverage. You should also make a copy of your results to send along with the receipt.
Medicare and health insurance generally do not allow for coverage of our screenings. Medicare currently covers a one-time abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) screening at their “Welcome to Medicare” physical, for men only, at age 65, if they have a history of smoking. Please check with your doctor to see if you are eligible for this test.
We currently do not offer screening for colon cancer, prostate cancer or sleep apnea.

CNF - Thank you for writing. We do take customer comments very seriously and truly appreciate your taking the time to let us know about your experience. We are always working on the check-in experience and privacy issues and understand that these two areas are critical to your overall experience. We promise to share these comments with our field staff. As for the temperature, we do struggle with this as we work in different locations every day and do not have direct control over the draftiness or temperature setting for the site. We agree, this can make the screening more uncomfortable and we will continue to work with our host sites to achieve a comfortable screening environment. Thank you again for your comments.
