Great! I just signed up for the screening last week to take tomorrow and no one said anything about Meloxicam, which I also take. Should I reschedule???

I'm taking this test Saturday. Someone suggested to stop taking anti-inflammorties 2 weeks before. I take Meloxicam. Should I stop taking this?

Karla - You will be asked to answer approximately 30 brief questions related to your medical and family history to help our reviewing physicians understand your risk factors.

Warren - Indeed anti inflammatory meds can possibly obscure the the result due to its positive effect.Conversely it may indicate that the anti inflammatory meds are being effective.

Betty - The best suggestion is to make an early AM appointment and be fasting if possible. That should alleviate this problem. Thank you for using our services.

Deadra - Sudden, intense headaches can be related to cardiovascular disease and should be treated as an emergency. Some headaches can be related to high blood pressure. You may want to check with a dentist to see if you are grinding your teeth. This can sometimes cause pain in the jaw and temple.
Our screening tests could be collated by you and your doctor(s)in order to decipher what is causing your headaches. Since headaches are probably the most ubiquitous of symptoms in medicine, your family MD might invoque the help of an experienced general internist to get to the bottom of your headache problems.

I am pleased to see you offer the hs-CRP test, but your prep list says erroneously that there is no preparation.
In fact to prevent false-negative results, you should not take any anti-inflammatory drugs or herbs for TWO WEEKS prior to the test.

Rose - If you are diabetic and are not comfortable fasting for 4-8 hours, please limit yourself to a "diabetic meal" (piece of toast, 1 cup of any kind of juice and 1/2 cup coffee or tea). If you are in doubt, please follow your diabetic care plan.

How am I supposed to fast for 8 hours before some of the tests if I am on a diabetic diet?

Judy - You were asked to fast in anticipation of a blood draw. However, no need to fast for our non-blood screening tests. However, if you were having an AAA screening, there is a 4 hour fast.

Why do I have to fast if I am NOT going to have any blood tests????

I Highly endorse "Lifeline's" tests, AND their low prices!!
I have had their full battery of tests, once every year, since 2001. There were a couple or three times when one of the technicians was not there, so they could not do ALL the tests that day. I went home, called in and they already knew that. We then rescheduled to get that one missed test A.S.A.P. at a place close to where I live. I did not have to pay twice; they have their accounting, etc., down well.
The last 4 years, as they have gotten more known with more customers, every test was performed on the first appointment day--no rescheduling!
For me, the BEST thing to happen was five years ago. Their Osteoporosis test revealed that I had it mild. The next year, the result was worse--I had full blown Osteoporosis!
So, I took those results to the Doctor I go to in my P.P.O.-health Insurance plan, and he had me do one of those "DEXA" osteoporosis 'X-Ray-in-the-hip' tests. It only confirmed what the lesser priced Ultra Sound test revealed.
I am into Alternative Medicine, so I did NOT start taking my Doctor's "Boniva" for my Osteo. Foour rears ago, I started on my N.D.'s plan {N.D.'s are legal to Practice in California & in about half of the U.S.'s States}. Then, I got my Osteoporosis results through "Lifeline's" test, and each year I have been getting better results--my bone density is better every year I get tested!
Everyone should do all these tests! After all, I am a 55 years old male, and I should not have Osteoporosis. I forgot to tell you that the cause of my Osteo WAS diagnosed. It was due to two things: {1} Not enough Vitamin D, and {2} Very low Testosterone levels. So, I use "Androgel" for that. And an Osteoporosis treatment plan, to increase my Bone Density.
And both are improving!

It would have been NICE to know that I was required to FAST for 8 hours before my test since these clowns gave me only two options for an appointment: 1:55PM & 2:00PM. Considering that I've been Type 2 diabetic for 20 years--going 20 hours without eating, I just hope they have an ambulance standing by. When I called there were no alternative times and no refunds. I can only hope that this will be worth it!

This will be the first for me. I hope I'm not disappointed. I am truly high risk for stroke and heart attack so Hopefully these tests will give me peace of mind.
