Salt Stats You Should Know
It can be hard to know if a packaged food is high or low in sodium just by looking at it.
However, here’s a quick way to find out, courtesy of the American Heart Association. First, find the label on the food.
If one serving has:
- At least 25-percent less sodium than the regular product, it’s reduced or less sodium
- 140 milligrams or less, it’s low sodium
- 35 milligrams or less, it’s very low sodium
