In honor of longtime partner Peggy Fleming, Life Line Screening is proud to have supported Skate for the Heart, which aired on NBC on January 31st.
Life Line Screening provided free screenings for several friends and family members of participating skaters to say “thank you” to Peggy for her ongoing support for cardiovascular disease awareness.
Ms. Fleming filmed a vignette which aired during the special in which she talked about her personal story. Having lost her father and sister to cardiovascular disease at young ages, Ms Fleming hopes to raise awareness of screenings as a preventive strategy to save others the same heartache.

Life Line Screening provides preventive screenings in convenient community-based settings across the nation. Screening included ultrasound screenings for stroke prevention, including tests for carotid artery stenosis, atrial fibrillation, and systolic hypertension (high blood pressure) as well as blood tests for cholesterol, glucose and c-reactive protein. Other screenings checks for peripheral arterial disease and abdominal aortic aneurysms.
According to the National Stroke Association, 80% of strokes are preventable. As Ms. Fleming says during the commercial, “If a screening could prevent a stroke, why wouldn’t you do it?”
