A Life Line Screening Ultrasound Sonographer uses the latest in ultrasound equipment to provide preventive health screenings to adults in the community. This person specializes in the vascular modality. This person is the primary provider of health screening services including carotid, aorta, atrial fibrillation, and ABI as well as administering osteoporosis risk and blood tests. On our mobile medical team, the vascular ultrasound sonographer will screen roughly 7,000 adults each year in the community.

Career Roles & Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and accurately perform carotid and aorta scans; up to 40 per day
  • Conduct Atrial Fibrillation and ABI tests
  • Educate participants on variety of preventive screenings offered and make recommendations for medically appropriate options
  • Set and achieve daily and monthly goals
  • Provide outstanding customer service
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed

Career Requirements

  • Graduate of an ultrasound sonographer, diagnostic medical sonographer, ultrasound technician or ultrasound technologist program from a formal training program or accredited college
  • Completed externship with vascular focus
  • Registered Vascular Technologist with documentation of successful completion of the RVT test
  • Willingness to be cross-trained and perform medical assistant functions if needed
  • Excellent bedside manner; team player
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds while setting up and breaking down events
  • Willingness to commute to work in a company provided vehicle with team up to 3 hours per day. Commute time is paid, and you may be asked to drive one day a week.
  • Must pass an ultrasound assessment after one month of training
