What is a Preventive Health Screening?
Preventive health screenings help people understand their risk for developing chronic conditions before symptoms are present, while they can still take action. The non-invasive screenings provided by Life Line Screening identify risk factors that can lead to cardiovascular disease, stroke, peripheral artery disease, osteoporosis, and other serious illnesses.
What You Can Expect
Choose the Right Screening for You
Life Line Screening offers more than 15 preventive screening options, providing comprehensive health screening services for anyone age 50+. This selection of ultrasound, blood, and EKG analysis enables people to understand more fully what risk factors they have for cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, osteoporosis and more.
The modern health screening tests and data we use is the same technology used in leading hospitals. These health screening services, combined with the ongoing medical care provided by a personal physician, are designed to keep people independent and active for as long as possible.

Screening Methods
Our trained technicians use state-of-the-art technology with three screening methods for a quick, convenient and painless medical screening experience:
Ultrasound
Ultrasound looks “inside” the body to show an image of a part of the body. Participants lie flat while a technician uses a transducer (wand) with gel to send out sound waves, which bounce back and create the image. It is not an x-ray, has no radiation, is painless, and does not require the removal of any clothes.
Finger-stick Blood Test
These tests use a lancet (containing a needle) to poke a small hole in your finger, so blood can be drawn for study. The lancet is a tiny box about the size of an eraser, and the needle is contained inside. You will never see the needle go into your skin, but you will feel a small prick.
Limited EKG
An EKG (electrocardiogram) is a painless test that measures the electrical activity of your heartbeat. Small adhesive patches called electrodes are placed on the skin, and a computer creates a graph of your heart rhythm called a waveform. It is painless, and does not require the removal of any clothes.
Are preventive health screenings right for you?
Preventive health screening for cardiovascular disease, stroke and other chronic conditions are extremely valuable for adults age 50+, or age 40+ with risk factors for these conditions: diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, a history of smoking, and a family history of stroke and/or heart disease. Some blood tests may be appropriate for younger ages. The health screenings offered by Life Line Screening are only part of your health story—when combined with the care provided by your doctor, they provide a full health screening picture. Call today to discuss with a Preventive Health Advisor which screenings are right for you.
